EXPERIENCED TO BE IGNORANT????

I recently walked into a retail outlet, very famous expecting that I would have a pleasant shopping experience there. But as soon as I walked in, the sales person looked at me and gave a look of dismay which made me feel “Am I in the wrong place??”

Ignoring that, as I walked a little ahead one of them came running and asked me “May I help you?” I thanked her I said I would be fine by my own. As I went ahead looking for things that might interest me, one of the sales people followed me around like I had just been let out of prison and I was going to get dangerous if I was left alone.

If at all I have a problem then everyone scurries away. I then have to go in search of the Store Manager who for all I know is another loser who is just trying to run away from his responsibilities – trying to defend himself even though he knows he sounds crazy to his own self. Too ignorant to listen to what I have to say because he knows the store better than I do and will follow the rules of the game even thought the customer is unhappy about it! The character of an adamant ‘EXPERIENCED” person.

This is the situation in most of the retail outlets in India. I’m not generalizing but this is how it is and what I have observed! So do you think these so called people with experience are doing the best that their customer wants?? In this mad race, youngsters who really want to pursue a career (but are not given a chance), fall back.

Most of the companies are afraid of hiring a fresher :
1. Because they do not want to spend their time training people
2. They feel we are not loyal enough to stick to the company for long and that all what they have trained would go waste.

I do not know what these big retail giants expect! MBA graduates work for so less that even a watchman earns better than us. Yes, they are giving us a chance to learn but we are not just learning! We are giving it back to the company! Then why in the world do they think that we are not worth anything more than just a few grand???!
People say that once you find your dream job, money does not matter. Whoever said that was in some kind of a fantasy land! Money does matter! Hell, all of us work for money! And yes, as youngsters we have a lot of far fetched dreams and earning a lot of money is one of them! But expecting to earn what we are worth is like a taboo for a fresher! We are always told “accept what you get! Don’t expect for more at this point in your career”!

Fine! Take it we agree to work for less. Then what?? Be treated like we do not know anything and that whatever ideas we give (however good they are) is not acceptable.
What I’m saying is, we are ready to learn and work hard for a company. We are more open to change and always welcome it because we take it as a learning experience.

But only if we are given a chance and only if those retailers understood that running behind experienced people is not the only solution to finding the right person for the job!

I’d be happy if just one of them understood it!

Movies That Inspire

Its amazing how some movies can really touch your feelings and automatically make a place in your mind forever.
We watch them and remember them, but very rarely do we try to implement what we learn from them.
Two such movies are "Blood Diamond" & "The Blind Side"
Probably the only two hollywood movies that had me crying.

Blood Diamond - A violent, explosive film that makes you feel angry, heart-broken, sad, upset and outraged all at the same time.Solomon Vandy (Djimon Hounsou) is a loving husband and father who lives a peaceful existence on a farm in an out-of-the-way community in Sierra Leone. He sends his young son, Dia (Caruso Kuypers), to a school to learn English so the boy will grow up to have a better life. One day, terror comes to Solomon's village when the rebels arrive and kill or capture nearly everyone living there. Solomon's family is ripped from him and he is sent to work harvesting diamonds. While sifting through sand from a shallow river bottom, he discovers a 100-karat pink diamond, which he initially hides then later buries. Shortly thereafter, he is captured during a government raid and sent to jail. While there, he encounters South African "soldier of fortune" Danny Archer (Leonardo DiCaprio), who makes a deal with Solomon: for the diamond, he will help the man find his wife and children. To achieve this aim, Archer goes for help to American journalist Maddy Brown (Jennifer Connelly), whose price for aid is a tell-all expose from Archer about how "dirty" diamonds are laundered to appear clean to the world market, and how much culpability the London diamond merchants have

The Blind Side - depicts the story of Michael Oher, a homeless African-American youngster from a broken home, taken in by the Touhys, a well-to-do white family who help him fulfill his potential. At the same time, Oher's presence in the Touhys' lives leads them to some insightful self-discoveries of their own. Living in his new environment, the teen faces a completely different set of challenges to overcome. As a football player and student, Oher works hard and, with the help of his coaches and adopted family, becomes an All-American offensive left tackle.

Truely amazing movies for those who are looking forward to learn something good from movies!

My first day in the new world seemed so different that I wanted to cry out and run away!

All seemed so new, so different..

At first every second seemed impossible.. so impossible that I just wanted to run away! From all those new faces that seemed to be judging me.

Yet there was a tiny flicker of hope that somehow I would blend in with the crowd.

There are always a few people who, no matter what, Stand out in the crowd!

And this place, where I completely felt alienated once, is where I found some people, whose memories I will always cherish!

No matter what I will always love my friends for, they are the ones who have given me, The Best Days of My Life!

LIFE'S SO MESSY AT TIMES, WHEN WE JUST CANT GET THINGS RIGHT..WHEN WE FEEL WE HAVE BEEN LET DOWN..WHEN ALL AT ONCE WE LOSE EVERYTHING THAT WE EARNED..AND THEN WE ASK THIS QUESTION, WHY IS LIFE SO COMPLICATED?

LET ME TELL YOU ONE THING.. HOWEVER COMPLICATED YOU MAY FEEL LIFE IS, IT STILL IS BEAUTIFUL.IF LIFE WERE SIMPLE, IT WOULD'NT BE FUN. TAKE OUT THE BAD AND THE GOOD DOESN'T SEEM GOOD ANYMORE.MOST OF THE PEOPLE YOU MEET IN LIFE WILL BE TEMPORARY.COWORKERS, FRIENDS, FAMILY..MOST PEOPLE ARE DRIVEN APART TO SOME DEGREE BY CIRCUMSTANCES TROUGHOUT LIFE, AND ITS NOT ALWAYS EASY TO MAINTAIN A FRIENDSHIP WHEN THE CONTEXT IT WAS FORMED IN IS GONE..WHEN SUCH FRIENDS COMMIT MISTAKES, WE JUST CANT FORGIVE THEM AND THAT'S HOW LIFE GETS COMPLICATED.. WHEN WORRIES PILE UP, ONE OVER THE OTHER, WE SEEM TO HAVE LOST EVERYTHING.... EVERYTHING THAT WE EARNED SEEMS TO HAVE VANISHED.. BUT LOOK OVER THE PILE OF SORROWS AND WHAT YOU'LL FIND WILL SURPRISE YOU.. BECAUSE RIGHT BEHIND THAT PILE WE'LL FIND EVERYTHING... EVERYTHING THAT WE EVER WANTED IN LIFE.... ONLY IF WE LEARN TO FORGIVE AND FORGET...
